The end of the academic year is a time to celebrate, and as a school we have a huge amount that is worth celebrating. During our Prize Days, be they for the Junior or Senior School (please access the Senior School photographs here and Junior School photographs here), we had the chance to reflect on the triumphs of our pupils, show appreciation for their amazing talents, and give thanks, not only to our dedicated staffing body, from our maintenance team and chefs to our teachers and office workers, but also to our wonderful parents.
Parents, we do not underestimate the time you spend supporting our community and your child’s education; your passion for your child’s learning, and the myriad ways you support them in becoming successful global citizens as they grow towards adulthood is extraordinary. As a school we are so grateful to work in partnership with you.
Pupils, I want to thank you too. I want to thank you for embracing opportunities that are offered, for the commitment you show to learning, even at times when it may seem a challenge too far, and above all for your humour, resilience, determination, and failing fearlessly. We thank you for making Windermere School such a vibrant and special place to live and learn.
As we start a summer hopefully filled with rest, joy and excitement, I want to leave you with this – you are all brilliant individuals and please do not ever forget that. How do you remain a brilliant individual? Be caring, be compassionate and be understanding of those around you. Put simply, keep being you.
