During the Easter holidays, a group of Windermere School pupils and staff embarked on an incredible journey to Holland for a Sports Tour that will be remembered for years to come.

Throughout the week, our pupils took part in a variety of sports including football, netball, hockey and basketball. Not only did they train under expert coaching, but they also had the opportunity to play fixtures against schools from different countries — gaining valuable experience, building confidence and making international friendships along the way.

What stood out the most was the dedication and sportsmanship shown by every single pupil. They played with heart, determination and respect, proudly representing Windermere School both on and off the pitch.

But the trip wasn’t all about competition. In their downtime, the group enjoyed a host of exciting activities — from riding chair lifts with stunning views to splashing around at a local waterpark. There was time for exploring the area, bonding with teammates, and of course, indulging in plenty of delicious Dutch pancakes!

The tour came to a joyful close with a disco, where pupils and staff celebrated the week’s achievements with laughter, dancing and plenty of memories made.

We are incredibly proud of all the pupils who took part — their attitude, teamwork and enthusiasm made this a truly special experience. A heartfelt thank you also goes to the wonderful staff team — Ms Ellery, Miss Whiteley, Mr Western, Mr Cooke, and Mr Hill — whose energy and support made this unforgettable trip possible.

As the group makes the long journey home, one thing is certain — there will be some very well-earned sleep ahead!
