Kurt Hahn was the educator behind Round Square, the educational and ethical philosophy to which Windermere School belongs. It is a vibrant, global organisation, connecting like-minded and ambitious schools around the world. Round Square believes that educating pupils is more than just developing academic studies; pupils also need physical, cultural and spiritual experiences for a fulfilling life.

In the past few weeks our pupils have certainly pushed themselves outside of their comfort zones and performed to the highest standards. We have seen a truly stunning performance of Shakespeare’s ‘Hamlet’ from our Year 12s. The performance, which was organised, promoted, and directed by our Year 12 pupils, was described by one parent as, “easily the best amateur performance of a Shakespeare play I’ve ever seen – even better than some professional performances.” A huge well done to the cast and crew.

Our Year 6 have returned from an adventurous and exciting Challenge Week, where they conquered Mount Snowden, unifying as a year group ahead of their transition into Year 7 on the Senior School campus.

Tonight, we will see the musical talents of our pupils showcased in our annual Summer Concert, and it will not disappoint.

The final two weeks of term will, without doubt, prove that there is more in our pupils then they maybe thought possible. Sports Days, Enrichment Week and Prize Days, are all opportunities to embrace the true meaning of what it is to be a Windermere School pupil.
