NEWSLETTER – 9 December
Despite the nights drawing in and temperatures dropping the energy in school remains high with Mary Poppins Jr. giving the whole community a real lift as we head towards the end of term.
What has been of real note over the past 2 weeks has been the number of charitable and service initiatives lead out by the pupils. The Round Square team have been working hard on our Reverse Advent Calendar and Candy Cane Selling, the Enterprise Group has launched the Gift for a Gift Campaign with personalised baubles and the School Council have been hard at work putting the final touches together for this year’s Snow Ball (including the fund-raising opportunity to drive an Aston Martin).
I also spoke to the Senior School in my Reflection of the concept of 当たり前 (atarimae), something you may have read about as a result of Japan’s attendance at the Football World Cup. The concept, in Japanese culture, does not simply refer to the act of cleaning up after oneself, moreover it speaks to the things that you do because they are a natural act. I challenged the pupils to consider what they felt was the atarimae of Windermere School. The charitable and service contributions of so many of the pupils of late certainly shows this to be our atarimae.

Lost Property
Lost Property will be displayed in Browhead corridor all week. Parents may sign in at Reception if they wish to browse through it and pupils will be encouraged to view.
End of Term Cartmel Carol Service
- Pupils transported to Cartmel during the school day
- Service 14.30-15.30, families welcome
- Retiring collection. Mince pies and drinks after the service
- Pupils must sign out with the tutor before going home
- Boarders transported back to Windermere School
- Day pupils who also require a lift back to school to email secretary@windermereschool.co.uk

Bus Service
Delivering a safe and reliable school bus service for our day pupils is integral to the day-to-day running of the school. You can find out more information and book our bus service here.
